Best Of Bali: Astagina Resort Villa & Spa

We arrived in Bali, Indonesia late at night after flying in from Thailand. We were so happy with our first resort, “Astagina Resort Villa & Spa” where we stayed in the 2-bedroom pool villa. Being a guest here was a FABULOUS experience. After reading this blog, check out my YouTube video for the resort tour (link at bottom of page).

ROOMS
The resort consists of several hotel rooms (queen or 2 double beds), garden villas, pool villas and one 4-bedroom larger villa. We stayed in the 2-bedroom pool villa and it was incredible. In this villa you have a large semi-outdoor living area with a full kitchen, a large private pool, lounge beds, 2 jacuzzi tubs, outdoor shower, 4 TV’s, poolside cabana, 2 safes, etc.. The rooms had everything you could possibly need.
SERVICE
From the breakfast buffet’s servers who won’t even let you carry your own coffee, to the poolboy who comes daily, to the man who picked us up from the airport and brought our suitcases to the room… the staff here is so lovely! Everyone speaks english and greets you with a warm smile. All of the workers were really helpful even when we locked the safe and did something to mess up the TV’s… they were always quickly there to aid us with whatever we needed. When you first arrive at the resort, you are greeted with refreshing welcome drinks and you fall in love with the atmosphere right away. The resort is guarded by several security guards at night and you feel really safe all the time.
LOCATION
The hotel is situated 5-minutes walking distance to Legian beach and Cocoon Beach Club. The road the hotel is situated on is filled with affordable massage places/spas and some of the best restaurants in Bali. We took a 3$ Uber (20 minutes) to Potato Head Beach Club and Cafe Organic (both famous spots in an area with amazing shopping as well that you’ll see in my YouTube video and Instagram) which was convenient.
FOOD
The breakfast buffet was really delicious. There is fresh fruit, pastries, chicken/beef/veggie dishes, juices, cereals, etc. You can order coffee, tea and eggs any preparation style and the servers bring it to your table. I like this better since it makes breakfast only half buffet-style and you are waited on. There is 24-hour room service and lunch/dinner available from the hotel’s restaurant surrounded by ponds. At 3 pm daily, the hotel sets up a free snack/tea time by the main pool which is always easy if you get peckish before dinner.
SPA
The spa is BEAUTIFUL! I would recommend having a treatment here over going to any of the cheap spas down the street. The quality of service that you receive and the comfort of the clean spa at the resort is much better and worth the extra few dollars. Truth be told, you are so relaxed just walking around and lounging at the Astagina that you most likely won’t even need a spa day at all!
