Anti-Dark Circle Eye Mask

It’s midterm week and my eyes are showing it! I love this simple, natural eye mask because I always have the ingredients and it really makes my eyes look less puffy and less dark! I couldn’t believe the difference it made the first time I tried it. A lot of women suffer from under-eye circles and darkness and even resort to expensive fillers that can leave bruising. There are a lot of product options on the market but many either have steroids or alcohol which will actually worsen the dark circles over time. I used to use Kiehls Midnight Recovery eye cream until I realized how much alcohol content it contained. It just didn’t make sense to pay over 50$ for something that dehydrates which leads to faster aging. There are better options. Of course, firstly it’s best to treat the root cause. A naturopath can help you figure out underlying problems contributing to under-eye darkness such as dehydration, low iron, other nutritional deficiencies, a food sensitivity, or to a toxic exposure (ex. smoking or a detergent used to wash your pillows?). Remember that your body is always trying to tell you something on the outside as a reflection of what’s going on inside. If you need an easy fix to freshen up your eyes, try this all natural Anti-Dark Circles Eye Mask.

Ingredients:

-1 tsp Aloe gel

-1 tsp Turmeric powder

-1 tsp Honey

Mix the mixture in a bowl and place it in the fridge for 20 minutes. Apply the mask to your under eye area avoiding the lash line. Wait 30 minutes as it dries. Lightly rinse off with room temperature water. You can dab on some castor oil, olive oil or natural (alcohol-free) eye cream afterwards. Repeat as needed or twice a week.

WARNING: The turmeric stains YELLOW so be careful when applying and use gloves so you don’t ruin your manicure!
